Myanmar Mix is a new and independent English-language website covering news, travel, food and drink, history, fashion, and more.
We are fresh, vibrant, authentic, a bit bold, and sometimes try desperately hard to be funny. Our audience is a diverse bunch of English-speaking Myanmar, Myanmar-based expats, tourists, students and Myanmar overseas.
We want to entertain and inform them, keep them up to speed with what is going on in the country, and share tips on where to go and what to do in Yangon as well as the rest of Myanmar.
Our social media channels and readership numbers are growing organically every day. Not even a year has gone since our launch and we’ve had local scoops and broken news that has made the international press.
Now we need a resourceful, driven sales director to join us in this exciting journey and utilise our growth so that we can become even better.
We need someone to:
- Build a bank of prospective clients for our advertising spaces, sponsored content, video, and copywriting services.
- Pitch daily to promote our advertising and branding solutions to companies.
- Consistently land sales deals.
- Work closely with the director including on an overarching sales strategy.
- Help with event organisation and calls for various tasks.
- Represent us at events.
You need:
- A strong network of contacts and an impressive sales track record.
- To have worked in a similar sales position.
- To speak and write fluent Burmese and good English.
- To have energy and enthusiasm for this field, want to be part of something new and eager to learn.
- To be a self-motivated, independent go-getter.
- To be good on the phone, happy to regularly make calls, write emails, and great in person.
- To be just as happy to work remotely as in an office—and can get things done either way.
- To be open minded and understanding of the gambles and rewards of being part of a new start-up.
